I can't help thinking he is in more serious shape than the radio station and Press has led us to believe. WOND in May announced he'd be only off the air for 2 weeks. In June Pinky called in stating he,d return in September while the media stated he was taking a vacation to bike and fish even though he gets seasick etc. I believe his family has told him they will not drive him to his broadcast because he is in bad shape and needs to quit. Perhaps he had a stroke I dont know but he is way too proud, way too used to being in the limelite and way too used to having his opinions expressed to retire. In the past he stated he would stay on the air with the Good Lord willing. Also he has not done his Press weekly column since his operation.
He will be missed and was the main pillar of WOND. Now folks will have to try to listen to Don Williams rambling when the politicos aren't calling in. AC has lost its biggest cheerleader.
