An employee of
Atlantic Gastroenterology in Egg Harbor Township is accused of stealing
$106,000 in patient co-pays over a two-year-period, township police said
Tuesday.
Elizabeth Embert, 44, of Little
Egg Harbor Township, was responsible for depositing those co-pays, but
instead took the money for herself, police said.
Embert was lodged in Atlantic County jail on $75,000 bail set by municipal court Judge H.R. Switzer.
Detective Reynold Theriault of the police’s Criminal Investigations Bureau investigated.

I got a bill from that office for my copay. I sent in a copy of my cash payment receipt which luckily I found in a pile of papers. I'm being more careful with my receipts after reading this.
