Mullica Police Car Hit - Cpl. O'Hara Escapes Injury

A Mullica Township police officer who responded to the scene of woman who crashed into a pole along Route 30 escaped injury when a 90-year-old driver struck his parked police car Friday, police said.
The first accident occurred at about 10 a.m., when Isle Kanetsky, 87, of Cherry Hill, allegedly fell asleep at the wheel and crashed into a pole near Maple Avenue, police Chief John Thompson said.
Corporal Jacob O’Hara responded to the scene and parked his car with the emergency lights activated, Thompson said.
At the scene, a car driven by Myron J. Lashley, 90, of Mays Landing, struck the police car, police said.
Lashley sustained minor injuries was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Galloway Township, police said. O’Hara and Kanetsky were not injured, Thompson said.
Both Lashley and Kanetsky were issued tickets for careless driving, he said.

On todays Date at approximately 9:55am officers responded to the area of Rt. 30 and Maple Avenue for a call of a motor vehicle crash. Officers located a Ilse Kanetsky, 87 of Cherry Hill out of her vehicle and was not injured. Kanetsky's left the roadway and struck a utility pole Mrs. Kanetsky stated she fell asleep, she was issued for carleless driving. While on scene of this crash Cpl. Jake O'Hara's police vehicle was struck by another vehicle heading West on Rt. 30. O'Hara was uninjured and was not in the vehicle at the time of the crash. The vehicle, a 2008 Chevy 4dr was driven by a Myron Lashley, 90 of Mays Landing. Mr. Lashley stated he was unaware that the police vehicle was parked in the roadway. Lashley was transported to Atlanticare Mainland by Altanticare EMS services. Both vehicles sustained significant damage. Lashley was issued for Carless Driving.
