Polar Vortex Returns On Thursday
Fearfully, daily high temperatures on Thursday, Jan. 8 may not reach any higher than the day’s typical low reading, according to the GFS long-range forecast. See how cold it will get.
In fact, temperatures during the polar vortex outbreak may remain in the teens across a large area that includes New Jersey, eastern Pennsylvania, New York and Michigan.
That’s seems cold, but there is worst news.
Temperatures across the northern mountains of New England won’t peak above 0 F.
Factor in the wind chill, however, and those cold temperatures drop by at least 10 degrees, according to the GFS.
So most of the time on Thursday, the temperature will feel like its in the single digits across South Jersey, where the normal daily high is in the lower-40s in the beginning of January.
