To our loyal friends and viewers,
How do we even begin to say thank you? There are decades of memories that we've helped capture and it's been our sincere pleasure to help document them. From the devastating to the uplifting, we've been there through it all. We can't thank you enough for all of your support, in the good times and the bad.
While it's a sad day here at NBC 40 as we say our final goodbye, we're smiling through the tears reflecting on all the amazing memories made here. While the show might be over for us here, the love for our community will never end...we will always be your hometown station.
We love you South Jersey!

This is a truly sad day for South Jersey.
I agree it's a sad day that we lost that station and I blame poor management starting with the terrible salaries and cheap conditions that caused a lot of good staff to leave. Ted Greenberg, Veronica Dudo, Theresa Berry, Monica Ott, and recently Sydney Daniels were all good talent. Many opportunities to get more market and advertizing were lost because the station had no mobile broadcast truck. These lost events included the Miss America Parade, the AC Salutes it veterans parade, the airshow, Miss America, the concerts, etc The Superstorm Sandy coverage was lost when the station went off the air with power loss during 4 to 5 days when we needed it the most. Apparently they had no emergency generators or mobile field equipment. Dans maps looked like a 5th grade color book assignment and his radar if any must have been primitive. The station showed many tape after tape from NBC so much that we saw Steve Handlesmith more than Michele at times. We learned more earlier and more often from NBC10 shore branch about the storms and the casino decline and more about AC's financial plight from Channel 23.
NBC 40 was great for many years but since 2006 too many missed opportunities were occurring and probably lost sponsors caused it to go on auction for the airtime last year. Another mistake was keeping the whole thing quiet till a caller on Pinkys corner forced Pinky to confirm rumors about 2 months ago. Efforts to save the station were too late and too little. We'll not get another TV station on such a low numbered channel again.
