Mullica - Fiery Car Crash On Richard Avenue

A victim was rescued from a fiery crash in Mullica Township this afternoon.

Rescue workers were called to the scene of a car fire on Richard Avenue near Nesco Road at about 12:15 p.m., officials said.
There appeared to be only one car involved involved in the crash, but Mullica Township police were looking for a possible second vehicle.
The car was fully engulfed when rescuers arrived, with someone trapped inside. The victim was eventually freed and rushed to the hospital.
The gender of the victim and condition was not immediately available.

Earlier today at approximately 12:15pm, emergency personnel were dispatched to the 3100 block of Richards Avenue for a call of a motor vehicle accident. Initial reports indicated that the vehicle was on fire and the driver was trapped. The first arriving police officer reported that the vehicle was heavily involved in fire and the driver was trapped. Working together, Mullica police officers, Atlanticare E.M.S. and the Nesco, Elwood and Sweetwater volunteer fire departments were able to extricate the driver alive. The driver, 26 yr. old Randy Jordan of Mullica Twp., suffered severe burns over most of his body. He was transported to Atlanticare City Division in critical condition.

IncidentsReceived a call, reporting that a vehicle ran into a ditch and caught fire. Arrived on scene and assisted removing the victim from the vehicle. No extrication, (jaws), required.
