September is National Preparedness Month.  The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the State’s Office of Emergency Management want you to take advantage of all the resources that are available to you.
National Preparedness Month aims to educate and empower Americans to prepare for and respond to all types of emergencies. Activities this September, 2014, will focus on the theme, “Be disaster aware. Take action to prepare.”
1. Get Tech Ready. Download the FEMA mobile application and program In Case of Emergency (ICE) contacts into your phone. Download the app here and learn other actions you can take to be tech ready.
2.  Make a Plan. Identify who to contact, where to go, and what to include in a go-kit should a disaster occur. Complete a family communication plan and shore it with your loved ones.

Who is the school representative to the Emergency Preparedness Council? It could happen during school or after school Latchkey hours. Seems like they should send someone, maybe Mrs Quattrone as she was an EMT.
