Kits containing the heroin antidote Narcan will be distributed tonight at a free event at Parkertown Volunteer Firehouse Station 70 in Little Egg Harbor Township.
Narcan
can reverse a heroin or opioid overdose in progress. Addiction
counselors and licensed nurses will provide Narcan training and provide
information on substance abuse treatment. Training sessions are
confidential.
Attendees will also be given a voucher for 30 days of free substance abuse treatment. The event runs from 6-9 p.m.
