Arctic Air Front Due Next Week
From Sept. 14-18, much of the eastern half of the United States could experience temperatures that are anywhere from 5-10 degrees colder than normal, according to the GFS.
Luckily, the warmth of the Atlantic Ocean will keep South Jersey from sharing in all of the fun of the extreme cold. However, South Jersey daily high temperatures will struggle to reach the middle-60s for a few days during the middle of the month.
In fact, the Canadian long-term forecast model shows that temperatures in the 50s will cover much of South Jersey at noon on Wednesday, Sept. 17.
Temperatures like that make you want to say, “Trick or Treat.”
Overnight lows will easily fall into the lower-40s if the daytime highs can’t reach 65.
These chilly temperatures raise a concern.
You might face a troubling dilemma if you don’t like eating breakfast in a 50-degree kitchen.
Would you turn on the heat in your home?
Really? So soon?
Yes, the cold air will arrive only about 10 days after this weekend’s heat forced you to operate your air conditioning unit.
So when was the last time you ran the heat and the air conditioning unit in the same month?
