Atlantic County 4-H Fair

Atlantic County’s 4-H Fair educates and encourages responsibility in young people through a diverse range of projects and activities they oversee that are then showcased at the fair. HAMILTON TOWNSHIP – The Atlantic County 4-H Fair, a local tradition since 1948, returns to the David C. Wood 4-H Fairgrounds Aug. 7, 8, and 9.
For three days each year the 4-H Fair invites you to enjoy the tradition as it comes alive with kids, livestock, carnival rides and contests, along with demonstrations of projects and programs designed to further the education and leadership development of Atlantic County’s young people.

Atlantic County’s 4-H Fair educates and encourages responsibility in young people through a diverse range of projects and activities they oversee that are then showcased at the fair. These young adults are the community leaders of tomorrow, and the experiences that culminate at the fair teach them lessons about agriculture and commerce, while giving them a sense of civic responsibility and confidence.

On display you will find homemade clothing projects and preserves, garden produce and fine art, along with woodworking projects, photography, and model railroad displays.
But you will also see robotics and engineering exhibits – including a submersible robot built and programmed by members for competition in the Sea Perch project.

4-H members will still be showing the county’s best horses, sheep, goats, rabbits, and poultry and dogs. But you will also find Tae Kwon Do demonstrations, as well as nightly baton twirling and other entertainment acts.

The Youth Representative Contest will feature outstanding 4-H’ers public speaking and leadership skills and the Talent Show will highlight the most talented individuals in the program. Even preschoolers will have fun in the Baby Parade and Crafts for Kids activities.
Festival of Wizards, the fair’s carnival vendor, will still provide all the thrills of rides and miniature rides for small children.

The Mays Landing Rotary Club will provide a midway of games, and numerous vendors will be selling trinkets and painting faces. Teens will gather to see the friends they’ve missed since school let out and moms and dads can afford to take the entire family out for a tradition of their own.
