MAYS LANDING — A murder indictment has been dismissed in a 2012 Mullica Township killing after the judge found the lead detective gave inaccurate information to the grand jury.
The state will have another chance to indict Michael Castro, who is accused of fatally shooting 77-year-old John Kingsbury on Feb. 5, 2012 .
If that doesn't come within 45 days, Castro would be released from custody.
"We
are moving swiftly to correct those deficiencies that the court cited
in its decision to dismiss the indictment," acting Atlantic County
Prosecutor Jim McClain said.
