A tenure hearing for suspended Mullica Township kindergarten teacher Kelly Mascio started Wednesday in front of a state Department of Education arbitrator, and will continue next week, said Mullica Township Education Association President Barbara Rheault.
“We had a full day of testimony that ended at 5 p.m., but the hearing is not concluded. It will continue May 15,” said Rheault, who was at the hearing Wednesday at the offices of Board of Education attorney Will Donio in Cherry Hill.
The Board of Education
has moved to fire the 16-year veteran teacher, who lives in Mullica
Township. It has accused her of poor supervision of students after two
5-year-olds emerged from a classroom bathroom together in September, and
said they had engaged in sex play.
Hearings such as
Wednesday’s are conducted much like court cases, but under American
Arbitration Association labor rules are private proceedings and members
of the media cannot attend, according to the DOE. However, the
arbitrator’s detailed written decision will be made public on the DOE
web site.

Would love to see Donio's total bill when this is all said and done!
It's public record = someone should get a copy of his bills since he's been there and post them to this site.
Day 2 of the arbitration for Kelly Mascio. While the meter runs for the lawyer.
They should just let the teachers do whatever they want. Who ever told them they had to watch the children too!!!!
Teachers do watch the children even the middle school student who left school to walk home and was out of class and off school property 45 min. Principal Mazzoni should be under tenure charges if everyone is treated like Kelly
