GEHRSD Gets New Superintendent

MAYS LANDING — The Greater Egg Harbor Regional School Board on Tuesday approved hiring John Keenan, currently the superintendent of the Northern Highlands Regional School District, as the new superintendent of schools effective July 1.
 

Keenan will replace Steven Ciccariello, who is retiring. He will be paid $165,000 for the 2014-15 school year, just under the $167,500 state-imposed salary cap for a mid-sized district. He is making $210,350 at his current job, according to information posted on district website. He has been at Northern Highlands since 1998, serving as assistant principal and principal before becoming superintendent in 2009. His contract there expires June 30.
