Mathlete Tournament
Four years ago parent Thor Himley organized a math club at the Joyanne D. Miller School in Egg Harbor Township as an after-school activity for his son, Aidan, who was then in fourth grade.
This year the club hosted 25 more teams at the Jersey Shore Mathlete Tournament on Saturday at the school, where 160 fourth- and fifth-graders from 13 school districts competed. While it was a hectic day, Himley said he is thrilled with the growth of the event because it gives students who like math a competitive and fun outlet.
Fourth Grade
Second Place Team: Mullica Township School, Jacob Thompson, Kyle Mains, Matthew Daly, Troy Deman, Lilly Lyons.

Wow, very impressive! This is truly something to celebrate!!!! My husband and I have considered switching schools for our children. Lately we have seen adults behave badly and we thought if these people are representative of the community, we want no part of it. But this honor is also a representative of the community. This is what makes us so proud of this community and the great school! Great job kids!!!
