Mullica Suspect Identified

Alexander Nayaran, 36, has been identified as the suspect involved in the traffic stop/gunshot incident in Mullica Township on Thursday November 22,2013.
A warrant has been issued for his arrest and he is still a fugitive at this time.

The fugitive Egg Harbor City man has been charged with aggravated assault while eluding a police officer and eluding police.  Bail has been set at $50,000

The officer,whose name was not released, sustained non life-threatening injuries during a struggle with Nayaran and was treated and released from AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, Mainland Campus.

The search for Nayaran is ongoing at this time

Aggravated assault while eluding a law enforcement officer and eluding police are both crimes of the second degree and carry a sentence of 5 to 10 years in N.J. State Prison and up to $150,000 in fines.
