5th Ave Delay
Many of the readers have questioned why the reconstruction of 5th Ave will be delayed. Below is a copy of Resolution #120-2013 which was passed last night.

RESOLUTION #120-2013
NJ Department of Transportation
Resolution Requesting Additional Time Extension
For Reconstruction of Fifth Avenue
WHEREAS, the Township of Mullica has been awarded Municipal Aid from New Jersey
Department of Transportation for the reconstruction of Fifth Avenue in the Township of Mullica;
and
WHEREAS, the governing Body of the Township of Mullica is requesting an additional
time extension to award the contract for the FY 2012 Municipal Aid Project due to circumstances
beyond the Township's control.
BE IT RESOLVED, that the govening Body on behalf of the residents of Mullica
Township is appealing to the New Jersey Department of Transportation to please allow Mullica
Township an additional six month period from November 7, 2013, due to delays in securing
required approvals for the project from the New Jersey Pinelands Commission, New Jersey
Department of Environmental Protection, Cape Atlantic Conservation District and time constraints
imposed by the New Jersey Department of Transportation, regulations governing the advertisement,
bidding and award of contracts under the Municipal Aid Program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Township Committee of Mullica
Township respectfully requests the Department of Transportation to approve a time extension not
to exceed six (6) months from November 7, 2013 to the Township of Mullica to award said
contract.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that two certified copies of this Resolution be
forwarded to New Jersey Department of Transportation for their approval.
