Heat Stroke

A person suffers from heat stroke when the body is unable to control its temperature and is unable to cool down.  As a result, the body's temperature could rise to as much as 106 degrees which could lead to death or permanent disability.

Heat stroke symptoms include dry skin or profuse sweating, hallucinations, chills, a throbbing headache, confusion or slurred speech, according to the CDC.

If you suspect a person is suffering from heat stroke, the CDC says you should call 911 immediately, move the sick person to a cool or shaded area, spray cold water on them, fan them or shower them to lower their body temperature.
