A brush fire that broke out on an island in the Mullica River has already burnt 5 acres of land.
Planes have been called in to dump water over the fire.

The Mullica Township Police Dept. has advised that the fire in the area of McCormick Ave. has been extinguished.. Residents in that area should expect smokey conditions throughout the night. All roads, which were detoured, have been opened.
