N.J. DEP's "Waiver Rule"

The Department of Environmental Protection's waiver  rule weakens many environmental permitting programs that operate in the Pinelands and could provide means to overturn decades of work to protect N.J.'s land, air and water.
"New Jersey has a legacy of toxic waste-deadened properties- a sort of Sherman's March of Superfund sites- and a propensity for kid glove treatment of those with deep pockets.  That makes the prospect of loosening restrictions designed to protect the environment and the people particularly unsavory"
