The "Monsanto Protection Act" effectively bars federal courts from being able to halt the sale or planting of controversial genetically modified (GMO) or genetically engineered (GE) seed, no matter what health issues may arise concerning GMO's in the future.
This Section 735 provision was passed through Congress without appropriate review by the Agriculture or Judiciary Committees. This biotech rider to the "Consolidated and Further Continuing Appropriation Act, 2013"was introduced anonymously.
According to reports, many members of Congress were apparently unaware that the "Monsanto Protection Act" even existed within spending bill , HR 933; they voted for the bill in order to avert a government shut down.
President Obama signed this into law on March 26, 2013 after being passed by the House and Senate.
Most of the world knows of the dangers of GMO crops . Countries have started banning them while the USA has just given Monsanto and others a free ticket to do whatever they want with our food supply.
Educate your Congressmen and Senators about Section 735 and ask for a repeal now.
