Absecon Mills fire partially destroys building, no one injured

An early evening fire yesterday partially destroyed Absecon Mills on Aloe Street, in the Cologne section of Galloway Township. The company has been in business since 1978 and employed roughly 100 people. At least 25 fire companies from three counties responded and the fire was still not under control as of 10:30 last night. Best wishes to the Taylor family and I hope Absecon Mills is back up and running ASAP. One of the largest manufacturers left employing local Southern New Jersey families.

Thankfully, it was only the warehouse that was destroyed. I read that their 100 employees are now temporarily out of work though.

Absecon Mills has not laid off all their employees temporarily. There are still a good number of them that are working and also hopes are that Absecon Mills will be back to full operational functions in the near future.
