Committee members Gabris and Polk voted "no" to reducing the stipends of the Construction and Zoning officers, recommending instead that the committee combine the two employees' job duties into one new position due to the absence of almost any new construction in the township, which would have saved the taxpayers more money. Brown, Riffle and Kennedy ignored their proposal and voted "yes".
During public discussion, Freeholder Frank Giordono admonished the committee members not to conduct municipal business based on partisan politics but, instead, to do what the voters wanted.
Newly-appointed Freeholder James Bertino spoke about working with the committee to bring in "utilities" along Mullica's WHP and the ACUA's plan to construct a trash incinerator, obstensibly at its EHT landfill location.

Deja vu?

I guess Brown,Riffle and Kennedy could care less that the voters wanted to spend less and cut the fat. Even their own Freeholder told them not to do business based on partisan politics. That's not how the Club Republicans of Mullica operate,Frank. It's always partisan with paybacks.

The decision of the committee Republicans to keep an unqualified and unnecessary party hack on the municipal payroll, especially in these very difficult times for many of us, speaks volumes to how party politics trumps doing what is best for the community. Nothing has changed since when the Repulicans were last in power, when they regularly paid off their supporters at our expense.

I recall Larry continually referring to the town council as "the currupt mullica five". It was not hyperbole.
Now we have "The Corrupt Mullica Three". And its still not hyperbole.

Where is it written on the agenda that a vote would be taken about the stipends of the Construction and Zoning officers?
Now the public are even being blocked out about what will happen at the meetings.
What if that trash incinerator is going to be built in Mullica? Will they also forget to put that on the public agenda?

The resolutions to change the Construction and Zoning Officers terms of employment apparently were added sometime after the original agenda was published and after the legal deadline, which is three business days before the scheduled meeting. There should have been a vote to add these new resolutions to the agenda at the meeting, which would have made them legal. They just can't be added at someone's whim after the deadline has passed without a vote to add them, so they were illegal.

I don't see anything on the agenda that relates to the construction and zoning officers.
K,B&R are going to ignore everything that Polk or Gabris suggest no matter how much money they could save us.
Brown is wasting no time bringing the "County" into Mullica. They will try to drop everything that no other town wants right in our laps.

JIm is his "own man" yet he invites the county republicans to the meeting. They cetainly didn't show up on their own volition. Something is in the works.

To all of the people who are sheep, and who listened to the media telling them many months in advance that the election wins would be dominated by republicans, then flipflopped their vote from democrat to republican just as the media brainwashed them into doing...To all of the people who helped our township get out from under the terrible township committee we had prior to the democratic victories, then stayed home when their votes were needed...To all of the people who do not think, and only vote partyline...to each of you voters who have put us back into the mess of a 3-person-republican-party of the rich-voting-bloc on our township committee...Thank you for your stupidity.
