Jim Curcio, Mullica’s Prosecutor during the former Chasey administration, was previously replaced by the current committee for foot dragging during the Waszen dump debacle. This article from the Courier-Post provides more information than does the Press of Atlantic City story about his recent arrest.
From the Courier Post, Ben Meritt, Reporter
HAMILTON — Jim Curcio, chairman of the Atlantic County Board of Freeholders and the Republican candidate for county surrogate, faces a Municipal Court date Wednesday to answer a charge of driving under the influence.
Curcio, 50, was stopped by police at 2 a.m. Sunday as he drove west on Route 322 near Hamilton Mall. He also is charged with refusal to submit to a breath test, reckless driving, careless driving, driving without a license, failure to maintain a lane and failure to maintain vehicle lights, court officials said.

"He hopes 'something positive comes out of it.'"
Yea, like Mullica's voters don't reward him once again with yet another position for his duplicity in the regional dump debacle.
The Hammonton Gazette had another article on this:

Good for the bum.Allway thought he was above the law
Fortunately, Mr. Curcio did not cause an accident where someone was seriously injured or killed as he arrogantly and stupidly took the wheel of a car while inebriated and allegedly without a driver's license!.
I guess he have lost the MADD vote in the coming election. I am amazed that so many people still have his sign on their lawns. I guess they just don't care as long as he is a republican candidate.
You're right,7:50 pm. It really does look like some of the Mullica Republicans vote by party line regardless of ethics, character and lack of common sense of the people running for office.
7:50 is right. Vote Wiffle, Rifle, whatever his name is. And for that Brown guy too. What do they stand for? Who knows? Not an original idea in their combined heads but it doesn't matter to some voters.
I can see the headline now: "Surrogate-elect Curcio Pleads Guilty to DUI". BE A HERO, Jim, and pull out of the race.
