Brenda Harring-Marro is the new superintendent.
Good and thank you for informing everyone. Now they'll need a principal for the Middle School and hopefully it will be someone in house.
So what happened with the guy they approved at the June Board meeting?
I wish they could just make the school grades k through 8 with one principal. That would save us all a pile of money.
Good idea 1:24 poster. Unfortunately, the current administration feels that 2 principals are necessary. Shame they don't think saving taxpayers' money is important.
we need Joe clark of eastside high
To the 11:50 poster, School would love to have one principal. Stae mandated we have two principals when we had two shools. Even though we are now one school, Stae still requires two principals. What we should do is replace Brenda with an Assistant Principal to Kevin Dugan. Please note we are also providing staff to Green Bank (we make money from that).
Since when did the State require two principals for one school? This is most certainly a local prerogative. Also, there are several districts in the state where the superintendent is also the principal of one of the schools.
From the Press article today, it seems like things went on behind the scenes that maybe shouldn't have? Any information out there? Will the public ever find out what really went on?
3:52 poster. Dont be an idiot! The meeting minutes will be available for review. The Board had to do something since the other person pulled out at the last second. The Board was split 5-4 between the other guy and our new Super. So, they were the two most qualified for the position. They took another vote, because they need to get someone in place in time for Sept. 1. They voted again and Dr. Marro was approved. She should have been hired to start with, but some Board members are easily swayed. There are also rumors that the other guy was not completely qualified as it turned out.
Shouldn't the qualifications have been checked out BEFORE the board voted to hire him? Who are the idiots here?
other guy was completely qualified
Dr. Marro is going to be a great superintendent. A major improvement over the last superintendent.
Board meeting minutes are not accurate, esp. with public comments.
You are better off listening to the tape recordings of school board meetings, if the school has it (as required at public meetings).
The staff was cooperative to let me see minutes, but Goldberg came out and said no, then restricted my access after I presented him with copy of the OPRA code.
I am glad to see Goldberg go. He also bullies the staff, and only one staff member had the guts to challenge his unreasonableness at a school board meeting.
