I thought they were picking a new superintendent at the meeting - I don't see it on the agenda.
Any indication who it is?
Did they vote on a new Superintendent?
They picked one, instead of Mrs.Marrow for 85,000 a year, the board decided to hire a guy from somewhere else for 117,000 a year!!!!!! The BOE surely likes to give away our money!!!!!
Really Mr. Freeland, do you think Ms. Marro would have done it for $85,000 a year with a Doctorate degree and for both schools? Wasn't Goldberg making a little over $128,000 and Ms. Marro making at least $92,000 for this year? Were you at the meeting when it was stated Ms. Marro would take the job for $85,000, a pay cut to go from Middle School principal to superintendent for Mullica and Washington Township? Sounds like hyperbole to me.
I for one would gladly pay Ms. Marro as much as Goldberg was getting payed. I truely believe she has our children's best interest at heart. But not our board; They are fine with bringing a stranger in. One final note, why is everybody on this blog afraid to list their name?? What is Mullica Twp. like Nazi Germany or is everybody in this township just plain balless????
So why did they hire a guy from"somewhere else" and not from with in? And with all of the layoffs this year, it would seem that a lower salary should have been negotiated. They all take care of their own.
Did anyone ever hear the sayings "You get what you pay for" and "Cheaper is not always better"? Shouldn't a Superintendent be hired based on experience, the ability to successfully run a district (or two) and knowledge of various programs? Money is an issue, but you go too low and you run the risk of getting leftovers.
