Well Mr. Noble, you got what you wanted.

How did you vote back in January for the administration raises?

Maybe it's time for people who don't have kids in the school to stop sitting on the board because the "no" on the local budget doesn't affect your kids any longer now, does it?

Don't forget that Tom Carl, who has a child in the school system, also voted no. It looks like Carl and Noble were reflecting the sentiment of the majority of Mullica's voters, who put them in office.
If you're going to require parents only to serve on the school board, you are going to create even more distrust of board decisions. If you want all the taxpayers contributing to the schools, then you need the representation of non-parents on the board too.
Besides Noble, the only two other board members who don't have children in the school system are Wyld and Kelley. They have relatives working in the schools.

I feel badly for Ms. Martinez. She did a wonderful job for our community. Too bad we couldn't have all four on board. Just want to say "good job" and Thank you to Lisa.

Mullica lost a verygood board member with Lisa not being re=elected. I believe it is because she spoke the truth to the MTEA .

2:04 PM-you must have been there if you know how members voted.

Mr. Carl did not write a letter to the Press of Atlantic City and fail to disclose he was a member of the BOE of Mullica like Mr. Noble did. Mr. Noble purposely neglected to disclose he was an active member of the Board of Education on that letter, hell he even listed he was from Hammonton, and please don't lecture me on mailing address in this case, which is why he was singled out.

Mr. Carl has nothing to do with the first comment because he wasn't be duplicitous, Mr. Noble was.

Rick Noble is a good Board Member who works hard at a task that benefits him nothing. I can see that he will be the next targeted board member like Lisa Martinez was this time. Board members who speak up and say what needs to say get targeted. It is a shame that the general community doesn't have the information to protect those who are doing what they are suppose to be doing on the board and that is ensuring a good education for the kids while representing the tax payers. The teachers are there for themselves as are the administrators. Because Rick did not sign his letter member of BOE, you are going to crucify him? He has served in two negotiations with the teachers which is the most difficult job ever requiring mountains of patience and oceans of time. He has not received one cent for his efforts or any thanks. I for one appreciate his effort and his time on behalf of this community and its children. Rick if you were not doing your job, you would not be targeted.

Of course he works hard at the task, he's not otherwise gainfully employed. Cut me a break and while your at it, have him cut that stupid ponytail, he looks like buffoon.

What does the MTEA have to do with who was elected to the board? They do not have anything againest Mrs. Martinez! If the MTEA had that much power over voters don't you think the budget would have passed? Stop blaming every decision on the MTEA and question your fellow voters if you have a problem.

EVERYONE THOUGHT MARY HUNT WAS A NUT. BUT LOOKING AT THE RESULTS WE COULD HAVE SAVED THIS MONEY YEARS AGO IF YOU JUST LISTEN TO HER WISDOM. IDIOTS

MTEA obviously did not have enough votes to pass the budget because too many people came out in spite of their efforts to limit the voters to parents and teachers. MTEA did have enough votes to get rid of Martinez. MTEA keeps trying to add new board members that they think will be favorable to their cause, mostly those with young children. The reality is that MTEA wants to control the board, that way they get what they want without opposition or will only a token opposition so that it will look good.

I'm glad so many people think they know what MTEA thinks but you're wrong. How could MTEA possibly "limit the vote to parents and teachers?" Any registered voter can vote, MTEA can't put conditions on it.
As far as getting rid of/getting in for BOE members - MTEA doesn't do that either - Lisa had the worst position possible on the ballot - fourth when three were needed. Since the candidates didn't do anything to campaign, people that didn't know anything about them most likely just picked the first three. Lyons was not backed by MTEA - Stop trying to construct a conspiracy where there is none - You give MTEA much more credit and power then is due them.

The MTEA controls around 200 votes in Mullica. Those voters include teachers and staff and their families and friends living in Mullica. In low turnout years it can effect the results of the budget and determine who sits on the school board. That's politics and how it works.
Others who vote typically have no idea about who is on the board or where they stand. That's why there are so many undervotes for the board and why the top three candidates on the ballot have the better chance of winning in elections when there is greater voter representation of the general population. However, they all have to contend with those 200 votes, which can still swing the election.

12:50pm post
Ms Hunt and the rest of the school board at the time consistently negotiated lower pay increases than surrounding towns' school boards, convinced the MTEA to agree to begin paying toward health care premiums, one of the few school systems in NJ to do so, and successfully negotiated with Washington Township School to provide them with administration services for a fee, all which had saved and continues to save Mullica's taxpayers a significant amount of money each year. The current school board seems to have the same goals of trying to keep taxes down as best they can.
