Too bad that the clerk can't be instructed to put a short explanation after each agenda item. I have no idea what most of this stuff is all about.
What is the no parking ordinance about
When I first read the 12:34 PM post, I was a bit taken aback about "instructing" the clerk about a short explanation. Maybe nicely asking her is a better way of doing it. Having the agenda available online is a courtesy and, although it has to be posted in town hall, it doesn't have to be made available online.
However, now seeing another comment asking about one of the items, maybe this is something committee can discuss and the need for explanations for the public.
I guess I should have suggested that the clerk should be politely asked if she might put an explanation for agenda items that might be vague or confusing upon first reading by the public so that we might know what our committee is going to act on at the meeting. This would be especially helpful now that the public is allowed to ask questions about the agenda items at the beginning of the meeting.
Admittedly, the agenda is very vague and further explanation would be nice on "Amend Chapter 7/Municipal Court", "Amend Chapter 63/No Parking", that could mean anything.
Yes, further explanation for the public would be nice and even get people out to meetings and more interested on what is going on in town.
Hopefully, the new committee will address this.
RE 2:17 pm
If you scroll down on the mainpage to the 1/28/10 article "Mullica Plans To Revisit Controversial Ordinances", you will be able to read about a few things going on in town.
The article has 14 comments and a few mention the "No Parking Ordinance".
I would like to see more of an explanation for items on the agenda, too.
