Mullica candidates pledge transparency

From the Press of Atlantic City, Friday, October 30-Rob Spahr, Staff Writer

Three of the four candidates running for Township Committee say they will work to end public infighting among committee members. The fourth candidate insists that any problems among committee members are the fault of the opposing party and that members of her party always performed their duties with open minds and entirely above-board.

Voters will elect two committee members Tuesday.

With Mayor Janet Forman opting not to run for re-election, longtime Committeewoman Kathy Chasey is the only incumbent in the race. However, her running mate on the Republican ticket, Bruce Crowe, was a committeeman from 1996 to 2005 and served as mayor in 2004. He lost a 2005 re-election bid to William Kennedy, who is now deputy mayor and has since become a Republican.

Their Democratic opponents - Anthony M. Gabris and Susan Polk - are newcomers to running for elected office but say that Mullica needs a fresh perspective.

The Township Committee has drawn strong public criticism in recent years for a perceived lack of cohesion and transparency. Those problems, critics have argued, are due largely to partisan maneuverings and accusations of backroom political dealings that have become a regular part of public meetings.

Crowe, Gabris and Polk all say that they would work to open the lines of communications between the parties and end the infighting. Meanwhile, Chasey said Democratic accusations against the Republicans on committee of backroom politics and lack of transparency are "absolutely untrue."

And while the Democrats are aided financially by the local political committee Keep Mullica Green, all four candidates are in agreement about their development goals - preserving open space while promoting commercial development along the White Horse Pike and according to the existing master plan.

The balance of power on the five-person committee - three Republicans and two Democrats - is at stake in the election. The Democrats started the year with a 3-2 majority until Kennedy changed his affiliation to Republican in April.

Cathy Chasey states that"accusations against Republicans on committee of backroom politics and lack of transparency are absolutely untrue."

You would have to be living in a cave without any human contact for the last couple of years to believe that gigantic LIE.

This woman has lied SO much that I fear she's become delusional and is making up her own reality or else she has no ethics and is completely corrupt.

re 6:46 PM post
I can only add that I not only agree but can add my observation that Mrs Chasey made no pledge to work with the full committee and will continue to ignore them. With her experience, knowledge and political contacts she will only be more dangerous and more vindictive if re elected. She will be putting this town through absolute chaos . While Mr Crow seems to be willing to talk to the other committee members Chasey will keep that from happening. They wont be shaking hands with the opposition after this election. This hatred between groups will only continue for years to come. The nastiness and personal attacks in the campaign literature has been pretty disgusting even for politics. Pride and personalities along with ego trips have taken the place of serving the public.

First of all Chasey always says "YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN" even if you don't, and Crowe works for Waszen. Yes the same one that was bringing the dump to town. Polk is a tree hugger and gabris is setting the record after Chasey fired him. vote Gabris in and Chasey out. Send this message loud and clear. Gabris for Mayor.

Keep pointing your finger at the opposing party, but three fingers are pointing back at you Kathy; one at you, one at Forman and one at Kennedy.

Of course you all had "open minds" and were "entirely above-board" because you were all in sync with doing favors for your friends and cronies. It's easy when it's all backroom deals with each other, but not so easy now with the "opposing party" watching.

What happened to the person you were 14 years ago? Where did she go?

Did everyone receive the Republican flyer in the mail?
The Republicans in this town should shake their heads in disbelief that a candidate for their party would send out such false and unbelievable material to the people of this town.

This literature is filled with such ridiculous statements that no thinking person could even consider to be true.
My advise to the Republican Party would be to fire the writer of this garbage. Find someone who can spell and verify their statements with Press articles or meeting minutes like the Dems. did.

If you can't find any truth that's good about your candidates just save your money for signs and hope that nobody has been reading the paper or watching the meetings for the last couple of years.

So Cathy Chasey's goal is to work with the existing master plan???

Her main goal, not too long ago, was to CHANGE the master plan and rezone the entire Elwood Village to 6 homes per acre for her buddy Wazsen.
Crowe has been working for Wazsen and he was also in favor of the rail transfer station.
A vote for Chasey and Crowe will bring an end to our rural community.
How much have your taxes gone up in 13 years under the Chasey regime

How many businesses has she brought to the pike in 13 years?

How many new services have you gotten?

How many times has Chasey been caught in a lie?

How many times has she went against the welfare of the people for the benefit of her "friends"?

If you don't know the answer to these questions, you should start investigating before you cast your vote on Tuesday.

Crowe and Chasey are depending on uneducated voters. Don't fall for their lies.

The Chasey-Crowe flyer that everyone got was so incoherent, disjointed and full of hate that most voters probably are going to say "what?". It looks like Forman had a hand in writing it.

Now Chasey wants to buy the Waszen property for new town hall. Why does she continue to have this fixation of wanting to help out a person who almost destroyed our community? Please voters, get rid of her once and for all or it will never end as long as Chasey is in office or until she has the votes to get her way.

How many years have the Republicans been in power - 15? How many new commercial buildings have been built in that time period - 1? They're kidding about wanting to develop the WHP for commercial development, right? Every election its the same old words but no new results. When will the voters stop believing them? Oh, that's right, they tried to bring in a dump that would not have paid property taxes and now a halfway house that also won't pay taxes. It seems that their plan is to remove property from the tax roles rather than add to it, all to help our their buddies. When will people learn their true nature?

Gabris has been a gentleman throughout all this, Even though his signs are being smashed and destroyed and his good name attacked he has not brought out how he was pressured .harrassed and finally let go when he worked for the township.
Sue Polk who is one of the nicest folks there is with a lot of intelligence but is made to look like a mindless puppet.
Cathy Chasey revealed the nasty, win at any means, vengeful person she is to the whole town and finally lifted off the mask in that handout.
Im pretty disgusted by her actions and I wonder if Mrs Forman took blame on some issues when it was really Chaseys manipulating.

Not only were the flyers sent by Chasey and Crowe a bunch of lies(they seem to take a lot of credit from Mr Hagaman's actions) but they crossed the line in going after the spouses. Stick to job record and performance of the candidates. Every resident should take notice that if they criticize KFC their lives and all around them will be under survellience to use as political blackmail and attacks.Gabris was right when he discovered how the Republican Club and the Chasey gang had changed from the Hagaman era.

Since when did Chasey want to follow the existing plan? Last I heard, she wanted to increase housing density. Wasn't that the reason Keep Mullica Green was founded, to stop her?

In the Literature Chasey is taking credit for creating and adopting our current development ordinance which decreased residential density. In the Press she says that her development goal would be within the current master plan.

I remember when the whole community was in a uproar when Chasey was determined to help Wazsen and rezone all of Elwood village at 6 houses per acre. And now I hear that she wants the town to buy Wazsen's toxic property.

Does she want us to put out tens of thousands of dollars to clean it up,too?
Why is Chasey always trying to help Wazsen?
I am tired of her lies and backroom deals. I consider her to be the biggest threat that Mullica faces at this time of economic uncertainty.

I read the mailer you were talking about and you're right.
A lot of people in this town know Susan Polk and it is totally ridiculous to think that she would vote down a solar farm or grant money.
St.Amour and Grabener have been blocked, ignored and left out of many decisions because of Forman,Chasey and Kennedy.
They have done the community a service with the KMG web site which lets us know what's really going on.
I hope that everyone who reads that mailer sees the lies, viciousness and ridiculous claims made by Chasey and Crowe.

Let's all get together and vote in Gabris and Polk and give Mullica a chance for a nicer, brighter future.

Good Morning everyone!
Be very careful at the "dump" today.
It's supposed to rain into the afternoon and there might be a large moving object in a raincoat and safety vest trying to throw wet absurd propaganda at your car windows.

Wasn't Crowe voted out of office because Larry discovered that both he and Chasey were using their taxpayer provided cell phones for personal use? Why would you vote back in someone who has already demonstrated that he has no regard for the taxpayers money? Think about that before you cast your vote on Tuesday!
