NY Times article

If you look at the NY Times article on pollution and follow the links, entering 08217, then enlarging, you find REVEL Atlantic City having a toxic dump site in Mullica Township. If this is true, why hasn’t anything been done or the public notified?

Here is the link:

Mullica has a lot of areas that need cleaning up. The best thing you can do is have your water tested and use filters or bottled water if necessary. If you follow through the article to the map of Mullica, you will see a lot of familiar names marked as areas of interest to the EPA.
Thanks to the poster for finding this great article.

The one site indicated on the map in the Nesco/Sweetwater area is the Hammonton Sewer Plant which has been cited many times for dumping treated effluent into Hammonton Creek (known locally as Shit Creek). Their actions have degraded Nescochague Lake and the Mullica and while they have made some efforts to alleviate the problem, to my knowledge none of them have worked. This includes the slit trenches on Boyer Avenue which were unable to handle the volume of effluent.
