Is there anyone who is able to clarify these agenda items before the actual meeting? This would better allow residents to know whether or not they need to attend the meeting. For example: what is the salary ordinance #1-2009?

What capital appropriations are slated to be cancelled in Resolution #32-2009 and why?

This is all too vague and it always appears to me that the committee does not want us to know what is really going on.

My suggestions, since the Municipal Clerk is the one who prepares the agenda, is to call Ms. Johnson at (609)561-0064 ext 14 and ask her. According to the Township Website, her responsibility is to serve as secretary to the governing body, and is the custodian of all minutes, ordinances, resolutions, contracts and archival records of the municipality. The Township Clerk's office also issues dog, liquor and raffle licenses and administrative permits, registers voters and provides general information to the public.

I know the job description of the Municipal Clerk, and I believe that you are saying that everyone who plans on attending the meeting should call her for an explanation of agenda items prior to the meeting. I can live with that, but will she then have time to do the rest of her job if several people call her for this purpose? A short explanation on the agenda itself makes more sense to me.

An alternative is to scan the documents and put them online and also have them available to the public at town hall; however, they would have to be stamped "Pending" until the committee acted upon them to avoid any possible confusion.

The scanning would be a good idea, but she will never do it in a zillion years.
