Hey everybody! This is great! I watched the whole thing. The meeting was 56 mins long and it has good video and audio. Early in the meeting ,I got to see the whole Kennedy bill incident, then they talk about the rescue squad having a chance of coming back. Next,it looked like a whole group of people from Mullica Woods was there to complain about their high fees and taxes. They asked for the towns help. The man said he paid over $7000 a year in these fees for his trailer pad!! These are our seniors on fixed incomes. You have to listen to all their complaints.
The Comcast contract was brought up and the Mayor said she and Mrs. Chasey negotiated the deal and the newspaper article was all wrong.
Also, it was asked that more information be put on the township web site about the future agendas.
This would let people understand what the next meeting would be about.
I would highly recommend that everyone take some time and start watching the meetings. Tell all your friends that they are available for viewing.
The video and sound are actually better than the Comcast tapings that were shown on tv. My recollection of the Comcast taped meetings was a great deal of background noise and the camera swinging around erratically. This is a positive development for Township residents.
Is the second budget meeting going to be taped. I don't see that on the list.
After listening to those people from Mullica Woods and all their problems, I started to wonder if this was the type of "senior community " that was planned for Wazsen's property.
They are paying double in pad fees than what most people here pay for house taxes.
I always thought that when I retired and couldn't take care of a big house, I might move to one of these communities. I have changed my mind.
That little section on the rescue squad was interesting. I wonder if they will be happy to go back to their waterless garage. There's no money in this budget for any type of building.
There seems to be alot of interest from the other towns.
This will have to be watched because of the players involved.
Gary Franklin is back in the picture. You remember the guy who praised the Reps. even after they ignored him for years. Then he had the nerve to blame Larry, who had been deceased 8 months, and the new Gadfly for the Squad walking out even though he had planned to do it for over a year.
The people here had nothing but praise for the Squad members.
I say take the Squad back!!!
Give it back to Elwood, where it belongs and has a building. Most important, give the Squad a good NEW leader that everyone likes and respects!!
