The recent comment to the Press about the recent Mullica election and the turmoil in the Republican Club is very timely and it would appear to be very accurate. It is no secret that Mrs Forman has had a large part in destroying not only an organization that for many years bragged about all 5 seats being Republican but also the image and intergrity of an organization that at one time had a lot of integrity and respect of the town. The nastiness, paranoia, personal attacks . arrogance, and off the wall rage has driven a lot of folks from the Club and from committee.Instead of everone is respected it is "You are with us or against us" and"If you disagree with us you're the enemy" Nastiness reached new depths in elections and among their own at times. The cancer that began when Mr Hagaman left office has now killed the patient because it was left untreated by the very powers that could have stopped all of this.Every member of the organization shares some blame for not addressing any of these issues when these ladies ran amuck. A Club that on a few occasions challenged incumbents in primaries has strangely been silent on any challenges or reprimands for her actions, They are both afraid of her and are following the lead of their de facto leader Mrs Chasey in allowing all this, Some we can assume agree with all the nastiness unleashed and the club should either screen applicants or strongly reprimand these views as not to be tolerated. It wasnt the Dems who lost them 3 seats it was simply them. They didnt care who fell or left as long as they had the 3 seats and control.By their inaction they have in effect agreed with all the muck, mudslinging etc. Mrs Chasey found Mrs Forman very useful to be the bad guy in the good guy bad guy act thats been going on all these years.MRs Forman willingly took the role of attack dog while her master never reigned in the leash. All of this for both women was simply power by any and all means necessary!! Last years loss was a shock they hadnt counted on-not losing both seats. They lost their positions and their departments. This has not sat well at all particulary for Mrs Forman who considers the Road Dept and transfer station too dirty for her likes. Ever see her out there unloading trash? This year they were hoping to lure Mr Kennedy into a false sense of security and defeat him. Wasnt Mrs Chasey Mr Maltz's teasurer? Hmmmm.
Now with no chance of controling Committee next year they have their own political survival to worry about and Mrs Chasey very likely has decided she must win a tough election so Mrs Forman now has to go. There is no noble reasons for this like saving the party, urging reform,bringing community together etc since she could have stopped this all years ago. In fact she encouraged her friend by promoting her to Deputy Mayor. No, there is only now her political survival and she will orchestrate Mrs Formans demise not by confronting her but having the Club not endorse Mrs Forman.Janet is now a liabilty and will be exiled. Expect her to recruit well respected leaders like Mr Hagaman, the Butteroffs, etc to do this while she smiles to Janet and says "I'm sorry theres nothing I can do." Mr Maultz will beat Janet in the primary if she doesnt go quietly. The planning has probably already begun. Treachery vs Treachery-how fitting and how tragic for the club that once bragged honesty and integrity. The party that Mr Hagaman in particular that was once the bright spot of Atlantic County must now also be an embarrassment.Now what will Janet do as the knifes come out?

Tell me why the Republican Club, if they sincerely wanted to regain their good reputation, would re-run the main, large, cancerous tumor, that this author refers to as the "de-facto leader" and the "master of the attack dog"?

I understand the Club's disgust
with the attack dog but doesn't it bother them that the Master tried to pull alot of shady deals with the transfer station,the rezoning of the Elwood Village for the benefit of a private land owner, the effort to remove the "No Dump"
signs, illegal ordinances,secret drafts to the pinelands,wasted taxpayer money to the Solicitor for a private citizen,the effort to limit free speech of citizens,
and the list goes on and on. The
thing that really shows the master's manipulation is telling a fellow committee person to illegally enter and search a dead man's home. Now, if this is the type of person the "Club" wants, it shows the type of morals that they have and they will never regain their integrity.
Will the Republicans please come and defend the actions of your committee people! We would like to hear your side of the story.

This almost has the makings of a Stephen King novel. Local Republican Mullicans under the spell of an evil empress. There is some great force that keeps local Republicans quiet until all Mullicans become Republicans and the evil empress brings dense housing, a dump and clear cuts the entire Pinelands.....and we all remain quiet.......the saga continues

Janet Forman plays an important role in bringing out the hillbilly vote for the Republican Party. She's Mullica's Sarah Palin. Kathy Chasey will have to be careful how she dumps Forman so she doesn't cut off her nose to spite her face.
To "anonymous" regarding the open forum and anonymity, the comments truly come in anonymously and The Gadfly cannot see who is sending the anonymous comments, unless you choose to identify yourself. If anyone has guessed your identity, it may be that your language, or lack of command of the English language, indicates who you are. Commenting on the new Gadfly is so easy, even a caveman can do it!
Mullicaman, you're right. This is almost like being in Oz. Forman needs a brain to see how her hateful,vindictive attitude has ruined her reputation with the public and her party. Chasey needs a heart to feel the sadness of our town if her big developer friends destroy our home. Kennedy needs the courage to face the fact that they mesmerized him.

I am a lifelong Republican in this town. I do not belong to the club. Last year was the first time that I voted for the Democrats. I do not know who will be running next year but I do know that I will not be voting for either one of these ladies.

Chasey doesn't have to worry about cutting off her nose to spite her face. She has already decapitated herself by ignoring the public's wishs and trying to pull some real bad deals behind their backs. We all know how she sits up there and smiles with her rosy cheeks while she's flipping us the bird under the table. I attended the Dec.07 meeting and left there totally disgusted with her. She would listen to no one and the things they did at that meeting had to be redone in Jan. 08.. She made herself look like a power hungry degenerate.
From the many responses here, this demonstrates how Larry's site was and is an important outlet for the residents to express their concerns and to learn about the issues affecting the community, but, hopefully, now without the personal insults and inappropriate name calling that marred Larry's definition of an "open forum". Such an open dialogue, devoid of verbal abuse and protected by anonymity and political retribution, can do some good for the community by bringing local issues to the forefront and to the light of day but without the unnecessary over the top speech that Larry was known for, which just diminished the message and put off the reader.
Ok, we'll just concentrate on all the corruption, lies ,backroom deals, illegal acts, erratic and vindictive behavior,stupidity,etc. We sure don't want any political retribution. I'm sure that our elected officials will be very happy with the new "gadfly"without the sobriquets. Thanks
In speaking about the Republican Club,the author states "Some we can assume agree with all the nastiness unleashed". What about those that don't agree to it? Do they just go voluntarily to the meetings to listen to garbage that they want no part of? How dumb is that! If you don't like what you see or hear, leave the club. If there are enough of you that are fed up, get together and throw out the offending people. Just one meeting would have shown me what the club was all about. Do they pick you up at your door with a gun to your head?
So I quess the respected leaders like the Butterhofs and Mr Hagaman are going to come to the rescue of the master. If I trained my dog to work with me to commit crimes, I would be the one going to jail. How can they justify helping the master? If the master is put up for reelection,we will all know what the Republican Party in this town stands for.
I actually hope they rerun Chasey and Forman. I think we will have an easy win-win situation for the Dems in all three wards.

Larry picked nicknames that showed personality traits,something the person did or what people were being called around town. Yes, sometimes he went over the line and even made me cringe. I don't feel that Larry's message was ever lost. In fact, it drew some people in that would have been bored with straight issues. Larry exposed and stopped alot of bad things that were going on. I wonder how many of the people who hated Larry will have multiple memorials,the Press and even Senators speak of their memory. I am so glad "Gadfly" is back!!!
I guess the club left a loop hole in the gag order. The attack dog got out through the hole and is leaving her dirty paw prints all over the county on the AC press. I guess it's a good thing that everyone sees what we have to endure in Mullica.

I'm glad that the Gadfly is back even if it is different then before. I really would like to thank Don for taking care of the two things that were most important to Larry,his Doofus and his site. Not only is he keeping Larry's memory alive but is doing a great service for our whole community.
I just left a statement under the AC Press comments on the Nov. 6,2008 article "Mullica can expect lively meetings". I was informed that there was a mention of "cooking" and "neighbors" which gave the false impression that "I on Mullica" was having a dialogue with me. There seems to be an war going on and some interesting things are being said.

I went to see the comments. "Eye" is supporting Chasey. It will be impossible to separate Forman from Chasey. They both have the same voting history. If the club keeps Chasey that means that nothing has changed. The best bet for the club would be to get rid of Chasey, Forman and "EYE" and start fresh.
I think "EYE" is one of Forman's personal enemies who is making a fool of her and him/her self on the Press. Do the Republicans have a split party? I certainly believe they do. F & C have turned alot of this town against them in the last three years mainly because of the dump and the effort to rezone Elwood Village. They have made alot of unwise decisions and the public displays and press articles have shown that they are not working for the town but only for themselves,their few friends,the rich developers and the Rep. County Machine.
I believe that the club will be forced to run new people if they want to survive. I only hope that the good, honest part of the club gets to pick the candidates.
