SIGNS

Welcome back Gadfly! I would like to know why during the last election, Larry Angel got a letter from the zoning guy because of a Keep Mullica Green sign nailed to his tree.

Didn't he get a warning about a $1500 fine? Today, I saw a Kennedy sign nailed on a tree on the corner of Duerer & Darmstad Ave.. I guess he's above the law or was that just selective enforcement on Larry?

It was a case of selectively enforcing an ordinance against the Democrats, and Larry in particular. The sign on Larry's tree was a Graebner/St. Amore sign. Since Kennedy is a Republican at heart, he's exempt. Its not uncommon in Mullica for the Republicans to try to harass opponents and their supporters this way. Note the No Dump signs, door-to-door political leafleting and campaigning at the dump, all of which the Republicans have tried to stop by saying that they should be illegal. This is how they try to suppress the vote in our community. Its very un-American.
