UPDATE ON MULLICA SCHOOL BOARD ELECTION
At last night's Mullica School Board Re-Organization Meeting an update on the election results was given. It was announced that the Mullica School Budget had passed with 296 'YES' votes and 289 'NO' votes...that the Greater Egg Harbor Regional High School District budget had not passed in Mullica...280 'YES' votes and 311 'NO' votes.
It was also announced that the tie between Tom Carl and Mary Hunt for the third contested seat was undergoing a recount by the County...that had not been completed at present. That the State LAW mandated that in the case of a tie...there be a recount...if a recount validated a tie...a Special Election had to be held within 60 days...that would be by June 15th...if that election also ended in tie...the County Superintendent would pick who would fill the Board seat. It was also offered that the Special Election could not be run in conjunction with the June 9th Primary election...though that seemed to be an opinion...the public was advised to 'stay tuned'.
