Subject: Rumor Has It............... This nasty rumor going around about the Carl family about spousal abuse is a bunch of bullshit. I am a close friend of the family and I can tell you for one that this rumor is so untrue and false. I know Tom Carl too well to even think for a minute that he would even have the thought of hurting his wife and family in any way because he loves and cares about them too much. I would like this rumor to go away and not to be beleived because you have no idea how much additive stress this is on the family. I mean how would you like a nasty rumor like this circulating around about your family? Also, isn't it convenient that a rumor like this (that could hurt his votes) just so happens to pop up when Tom Carl is running for school board, and who do you think wrote the comment Rumors that is obviously written from a counselor's point of view.

RESPONSE: This unfounded and ugly rumor has been out there for several years...long before Mr. Carl was a candidate for anything. It clearly gained in circulation with the candidacy of Mr. Carl. GadFly strongly felt that the exposure of the rumor as a LIE would serve the greater good...for the Carl family and for our greater community.
