Subject: Re: ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE "SPIN": Larry, I think we all spin things. Your admission at the meeting of doing so was refreshing. I have noticed that you are often guilty of leaving things out of your reporting that reflect badly on the Democrats. The debate over wording at the Town Meeting between Ms. Chasey and Mr. Graebener went on and on and seemed to make little difference to the end result. Graebener got no support from the other Democrats and he looked very foolish in this discussion and again in the discussion of the Laurer School matter. As a long time reader of your web site I do think that your boast to print everything leaves those who fail to defend themselves looking foolish and guilty. MULLICA ANALYST

RESPONSE: Your observations have more merit than I probably wish to admit. bernie THE IDEOLOGUE grabener's efforts to parse every damned word in the new Economic Development Committee Ordinance was foolish...as was his pig-heartendness regarding the Laurer School issue. It should be clear that the make-up of the members will determine the course of action on any grouping of individuals. If one appoints all Republican pro-development folks the focus will be exclusively on bringing development to Mullica. If, with the newly to be appointed group, there is a balance of tree-huggers and development minded residents -- the various considerations regarding maintaining the rural character of Mullica and the inevitability of some increased development are more likely to balance one another.

The old disbanded group...that met in Republican loved back room secret...looked at extending sewer lines down from Hammonton and up from Egg Harbor City. It also talked about creation of an industrial park and seemed to focus in on developing the White Horse Pike at the Hammonton end...which is zoned as a Pineland's Town...which would permit more diverse development. The issue of the re-zoning of the Elwood Village Center was discussed -- but the minutes reflect that both Ms. Forman and Mr. Franklyn were not present...GadFly thus owing an apology to Gary Franklyn who represented that there had not been any kind of discussion of this project at the Economic Development Advisory Committee meetings.

While there clearly had been...he was not present. Of course, the person who was present ... and brought the matter to the Advisory Committee and was at the two Town Meetings where Franklyn misrepresented the facts, was cathy THE BAG LADY chasey. Her failure to set the record straignt is scary...she is SCARY!!!
