HOW A TIE FOR MULLICA'S SCHOOL BOARD MIGHT PLAY OUT?

The latest unofficial count seems to indicate that the third seat in Tuesday's School Board election ended in a tie between Hunt and Carl. How would that play out if true. The State statute seems to call for a run-off election within 60 days.

There has been some behind the scenes talk of flipping a coin ... with the loser pulling out to save the cost to Mullica taxpayers of a Special Election. That cost could be somewhere around $7,500. Or there could be a recount that Hunt and/or Carl would have to pay for. There is also some speculation about the possibility of holding the Special Election with the June 9th Primary. There would be some logistical issues as well as legal questions regarding that eventuality. Keep in mind that in the Primary, voters only vote in the Republican or Democratic machine.

Regardless, of how this eventually plays out...there will be a Mullica School Board Re-Organization Meeting on Monday, April 21st at 7 P.M. in the school Library. The vibes GadFly has received from both sides ... are a wait and see attitude.
