Subject: Aponte Outburst: Gadfly, The notion that Mr. Aponte was wrong for speaking his mind at a public meeting is absolutely ridiculous. As a resident and taxpayer, he has the same rights as anyone attending the meeting. When you accept a job, you do not relinquish your free speech rights. Unless there is some clause in Mr. Aponte's employment contract to the contrary, your writer is a neanderthal fool. We have had a history of disdain by Mullica's public officials for the residents...you need only go back to late in 2007 when Mr. Don Kehrli belittled residents and took pleasure in it. To think that only Ms. Forman is guilty of this behavior would be a mistake. Let's hope that our newly elected officials do not sink to such lows and display a higher level of decorum on the dais. While Mr. Kehrli's frank approach will be missed, his unprovoked outbursts and lackey status certainly are not. SL
