Subject: Monzo receives Hall of Fame award: (From the Hammonton Gazette) Mullica Township resident and former Hammnton School District Business Administrator Thomas H. Monzo was selected by the Special Olympics of New Jersey to receive its Hall of Fame Award this past November. This distinction is given to an individual who has dedicated 20 years or more to the Special Olympics of New Jersey program and who has advanced the mission of the Special Olympics. Monzo has been involved with the organization for more than 30 years and served on the state board for 10 years. He also coaches his son, Tom, in tennis and golf. They also compete together in unified golf. Tom 45, has won numerous medals in track and field, softball, swimming, golf, tennis, speed skating, ice speed-skating, sking and bowling...Special Olympics of NJ provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continued opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friends with their families, other Special Olympic athletes and the community. ( It would seem appropriate for Mullica offica DUMB to acknowledge and honor Mr. Monzo at the next televised Town Meeting.)
