MULLICA SCHOOL 2006 STATE TEST SCORES

GadFly will be posting the grade by grade test scores from the ‘New Jersey State Assessment Report 2006. The State Test (New Jersey Assessment of Skills and Knowledge – ASK) was a new test and many had been led to believe that the 2006 test was merely a trial to work out kinks in the test...that did not prove to be the case however. But, all schools were in the same position and thus a comparison gives insights as to where various school Districts are in comparison to other New Jersey School Districts. GadFly will post grade by grade the Mullica scores for Literacy and Math and in some cases the test included Science. Having posted the Reading and Math scores for the 3rd, 4th and 5th Grades, ...and the Science scores for the Mullica’s 4th graders; GadFly now posts the scores for MULLICA 6th Graders MATH.

(Note; Mullica had no students in the 6th grade that were Pacific Islander or American Indian/AK Native)

It is noted that the No Child Left Behind parameters require a break down into various ethnic, economic and other groupings. It should also be noted that for the 6th Grade Mathematics test the State average percent who passed was 70.8%. While Mullica’s 6th Grade pass rate exceeds the State average at 72.7% pass rate the fact that one out of every four students in Mullica’s 6th Grade failed the Math test should be deeply troubling. The poor performance as reflected in the high failure rate among Mullica economically disadvantaged and Hispanic students here should focus attention for the Mullica School Board and teaching and administrative staff on where extra effort should be directed if we are as adults not to fail our obligations to our youth here in Mullica.
