Subject: Hindsight: For more than four years, President Bush's war in Iraq has been sending hundreds of wounded soldiers to Walter Reed Hospital. Now, just now, Bush is finding out there is a problem. During these four years, Bush and others from his administration have visited the hospital. What did they look at? Was this administration as blind to the hospital's problems as it has been to the problems in Iraq? Bush is going to appoint a panel to examine the treatment of our wounded troops. In his weekly radio address recently, Bush, in his usual "Johnny come lately" remarks, said "this is unacceptable to me, it is unacceptable to our country, and it's not going to continue." Again, here is our great leader closing the barn door after the horse has escaped. Time after time as the administration has fouled up one thing or another during the war, Bush appoints a new panel to examine the screw-up. We have almost as many panels as troops in Iraq. For all his failures, Bush does have one good thing going for him -- the best hindsight ever seen. Charles
