BY USING IT ON GENERAL EXPENSES, THE GOVERNMENT ARTIFICIALLY KEPT LOW THE MORE PROGRESSIVE INCOME TAXES. THE TRUST FUND IS NOT FILLED WITH I.O.U'S TO OURSELVES AS MUCH AS IT IS FILLED WITH I.O.U'S FROM THE INVESTMENT CLASS TO THE WORKING CLASS. AND NOW THAT THE BILL HAS COME DUE, THIS CLASS IS USING ITS POLITICAL CLOUT TO DEFAULT ON ITS DEBT. J

RESPONSE: A very insightful point you make here. But the Republi CON of an "ownership society" is that there is no sense of community; the rich got theirs', and the working class got theirs' and we owe nothing to one another as a community. Let's default on old debts say the rich to the working class and if your poor or infirm and elderly that is really your fault and we as a community owe you nothing. The fact that you work for a company for a lifetime that promised you a pension in you old age and like Enron or the steel industry has defaulted on those promises that is your fault because you made a bad choice and we each "own" are own choices...and Bush's friend Kenny Boy Lay and all those other rich crooks are still walking around and some of you working class and middle class fools out there continue to vote Republican. And you only have to fool 50% of the people into voting for the Republi CON! As James Thurber noted: YOU CAN FOOL TOO MANY OF THE PEOPLE TOO MUCH OF THE TIME.
