Subject: Political gain: Larry, President Bush's scramble to cut short his Texas vacation to return to Washington to sign emergency legislation from Congress in the Terri Schiavo case is an example of showboating for political gain. he and the Republicans seem to believe that states should have the right to legislate freely without interference from the federal government, except in cases where political brownie points can be earned for republican causes. he and the Republicans profess belief in a philosophy that government ought no interfere with the private affairs or ordinary citizens, that is, unless there is political hay to be made. The bush administration and the Republican led Congress could not be more hypocritical. It's high time the American people woke up to this sorry reality. Patrick

RESPONSE: Cutting the funding for the program that has been keeping Terri alive and than grandstanding for this poor women’s life is but another view of the lies that are behind Republican policies. More and more good people are coming to recognize this. The president’s approval rating is at its lowest ever according to Gallop – 45%. Yes, what the hell is the matter with that 45%?
