Subject: Living Will: It's alarming when House Majority Leader Tom DeLay, R Texas, politicized the court decision to allow Terri Schiavo to die in peace. The Republican Party's interference in this matter is outrageous. This drives home the importance of making a living will. Having self serving political pond scum deciding one's fate, against one's wishes, is unsettling. Terri Schiavo's husband expressed her wishes and, in order to honor them, he had to fight a group of crafty kooks. RESPONSE: What is outrageous is how the Republican Party has attempted to use the sad situation for political gain and to score political points with its religious right wing nut core. Tom DeLay signed off on pulling the tube and letting his father die after an accident and Bush when Governor of Texas signed a bill allowing the pulling of the support tube when there was no hope and he did so for dollar reasons and nothing more. Hypocrisy and lies should now seem obvious to even the most loyal Republican supporter at least if one is not a religious fanatic.
