Subject: Education? Four score years ago, Fabian Socialist John Dewey brought forth on this continent, a new pedagogy; "progressive education." Education is the most socialized activity in America, virtually guaranteeing failure. Today, progressive education, e.g., whole-language, whole-math, anti-conceptual constructivism, multiculturalism, moral relativism etc., serves to thwart cognitive development, creating followers rather than leaders, collectivists rather than individualists, and pragmatists rather than objective, goal directed thinkers. Yet left-leaning teachers colleges promote progressive education, foisting it on unsuspecting idealistic young teacher who have never heard the word "phonics." ET
