MULLICA’S RED MOON SALOON CLOSES

Located on the Pike just off Colombia, one of the bar success stories in Mullica has closed its doors. As noted, Mullica Twp has basically too many liquor licenses and various players in Mullica have used that fact to exploit individuals who have business dreams by selling them a liquor license and then when the business went under reclaiming the license as part of a business lien. Often however, before that happens, the bar had turned to the selling of drugs or prostitution as a way of meeting its bills. This because, Mullica can no longer with the AC casinos support the number of beer and shot places that it had before casinos. We now have several liquor licenses not in use...the one at Burdicks, and Forks Inn. And there are representations that The Office (formerly Fodicaro’s) and Coffee’s are struggling.

The Red Moon seemed to successfully find a formula to be a success without turning to drugs and prostitution. It became a bar that catered to the gay community. Many Mullica residents were unaware the Mullica had a gay bar but business by the signs of the parking lot seemed to be thriving.

The demise of this establishment is unfortunate for it would be sad to see this bar become just another bar in play. One needs to find a nitch market to make it as a bar in Mullica given the number of liquor licenses in play or turn to a drug and sex venue it seems.
