PA Dem. Rep. Charged with Stealing From Charity

The first Muslim state rep. in Pennsylvania didn’t last very long because she got caught stealing money from a charity she set up for kids, the homeless and mentally ill. No, really.
Democratic Rep. Movita Johnson-Harrell, who founded Motivations Education & Consultation Associates, allegedly diverted Medicaid and Social Security disability funds from the nonprofit and spent them on designer clothing, vacations, luxury car payments, real estate purchases, and other personal expenses, Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro announced in a press release on Wednesday.
The nonprofit was created by Johnson-Harrell, who was the first Muslim woman to serve in the House, in order to help people suffering from intellectual disabilities, chronic mental illness, and substance abuse issues. It also benefited the homeless, children, and elderly people.
“When corruption erodes the trust that is built between governmental entities and citizens, no one wins,” Shapiro said. “I’ve said time and time again as attorney general that no one is above the law, no matter their position of power. And today is no different.”
Some of the spending allegedly included $20,000 in overdue mortgage payments, $2,000 on overdue payments for a Porsche, and $15,000 on clothing items like fox fur coats and garments from designer Ralph Lauren.
The charges include theft, perjury, tampering with public records, tax fraud, and campaign fraud.

New York state Judge Saliann Scarpulla imposed the penalty after the president admitted to a series of abuses outlined in a lawsuit brought against him last year by the New York attorney general’s office.
Did you read the article posted? Trump's Foundation gave the fund raiser but the campaign staff made the mistake of running it and distributing the raised funds to the Vets. The campaign kept 0 dollars.
Scarpulla said Trump breached his fiduciary duty to the Trump Foundation by allowing his campaign staff to plan a fundraiser shortly before the 2016 Iowa caucuses to boost his political standing.
A Trump Foundation spokesperson stated "We are pleased that the Court, in rejecting the Attorney General's frivolous request for statutory penalties, interest and other damages, recognized that every penny ever raised by the Trump Foundation has gone to help those most in need,"
The Trump Foundation never took out money for expenses as other foundations do,sometimes at amounts of 50% or more for administration costs.
Please stop with all the conspiracy theories as “facts”. It’s grown old and it’s all in the open now.
