Media Release:
On 6/7/19 at approximately 10:20pm officers were dispatched to the 600 block of Columbia Road for a motor vehicle crash. Upon arrival responding officers located two subjects lying in the roadway with head injuries. Atlanticare EMS arrived shortly thereafter and treated a 14yr old juvenile and a 42 yr old male identified as James Kraus of Egg Harbor Township. The 14yr old sustained critical injuries, Kraus sustained moderate injuries both were transported to Cooper Hospital in Camden. The investigation revealed that four subjects on two ATV's crashed into each other, one of them left the roadway and struck a tree. One of the ATV's was operated by Kraus, the other was operated by Aaron Kraus, 20 of Egg Habor Township. Aaron also had a juvenile passenger on it. The 16 year old passenger was treated also for minor injuries at Atlanticare Hospital. Charges on both drivers for a wide range of traffic offenses are pending. Both drivers are suspected to have been consuming alcohol prior to the crash. DUI charges are pending as well.
