Finally
got my computer to let me into our Facebook site. Been trying to let
people know about the June meeting at the roundhouse on Monday. To
answer Roy C. Weiler Sr.,
I will be presenting some information about the Elwood Rural Cemetery. I
received info requests about interments there and found they were not
in Find-A-Grave. After seeing the Township Clerk and getting the phone
number of Frank Paulsgraf who has ""the records", we determined that
they were woefully inadequate and
incomplete. A discussion of what Frank & I are doing to rectify the
situation and a little info on some of the people interred there will be
presented with Powerpoint photos. Since this will not take much time, I
am also presenting information from several loaned newspapers that
found their way back to the museum after about 15 years. These papers go
back to 1859 and the newest is a 1907 "The NEWS". All of the major
pieces (some less than 1/2-inch square) havew been digitally scanned at
600 dpi and are beings pieced together with PhotoShop. The Powerpoint
will included some of the scans and the "finished" pages that are
available on the Roundhouse computer. Some items found in these papers
are the "Story of the Piano Factory" and how Egg Harbor City grape
growers helped save the wine industry! Hope to see you at 7:00PM,
24JUNE2019.
