We thank Attorney General Jeff Sessions for his service, and wish him well! A permanent replacement will be nominated at a later date.”
The president will not face stiff obstacles to confirmation to Matt Whitaker’s confirmation after having picked up several new Republican seats in the U.S. Senate.

The new acting Attorney General Matt Whitaker
Matthew G Whitaker is essentially a mirror, a protege', of Senator Chuck Grassley (who is retiring), Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee. Whitaker and Grassley hold almost identical views, tone, disposition and perspective on DOJ issues.
